Malnutrition worsens the course of the disease!
November 10–16, 2025 an awareness initiative will take place Malnutrition Risk Week, which is part of the global project "Malnutrition Awareness Week". In the Czech Republic, the campaign is organized by Alliance for Nutritional Care, ops in cooperation with the professional Society for Clinical Nutrition and Intensive Metabolic Care (www.skvimp.cz)The campaign is being run under the auspices of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
The goal Malnutrition Risk Weeks is to draw the attention of the general public and the professional public to the fact that Malnutrition is a serious problem, which negatively affects patient survival, recovery, self-sufficiency and the ability to live a full and quality life. Malnutrition significantly increases healthcare costs. The estimated annual costs associated with the consequences of malnutrition during illness in the Czech Republic are estimated at CZK 90-100 billion per year.
Malnourished can be effectively addressedIt is necessary to pay attention to symptoms, use the possibilities of nutritional screening and seek professional help from a nutritionist and nutritional therapist in a hospital or in a nutritional clinic in a timely manner.
