HPB center

Center for the treatment of liver, pancreas and biliary tract diseases

The 1st Department of Surgery, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and General Hospital has the status of a HPB center, i.e. a workplace providing highly specialized care for patients with diseases of the liver, pancreas and biliary tractWithin the HPB Center, we offer comprehensive diagnostics and treatment, including care for patients with the most serious and complex diagnoses.

The clinic is one of the leading workplaces of its kind due to the high number of demanding resection and reconstruction procedures. Another important advantage is the close multidisciplinary cooperation with experts from other fields, especially oncology, vascular surgery, radiology, endoscopy and intensive care. It goes without saying that modern diagnostic and treatment procedures based on the principles of evidence-based medicine are used.

An integral part of the center's activities is scientific research and educational work, which contributes to the development of the field and to the continuous improvement of treatment results and the quality of care provided. Long-term cooperation with major European centers of HPB surgery also plays an important role, which allows sharing of experience, professional knowledge and the latest treatment procedures.

Our specialists are ready to take care of patients with liver, pancreas and biliary tract diseases and provide them with a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment process. If you are interested in a consultation or referral of a patient to the HPB Center, please do not hesitate to contact our coordinator.
