On Tuesday, July 1, the fourth annual awareness campaign of the Integrated Rescue System (IZS) supporting blood and bone marrow donation will start.

The VFN also regularly participates in the challenge "Our blood flows in your veins too", which is organized annually by the Police of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Medical Rescue Service of the Capital City of Prague and the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. Over the past three years, a total of 62,230 donors in the Czech Republic have answered the call. In 2024, hundreds of people also entered the bone marrow donor register. Especially in the summer, when hospitals regularly face a shortage of blood, you can do a good deed. The aim of the project is to raise awareness of unpaid blood donation, and thus help not only our Faculty Transfusion Department to find new regular voluntary donors. There is currently a shortage of about 100,000 of them in the Czech Republic.
