A rare educational trail at the VFN
At the clinics of the VFN and its immediate surroundings, you will find a total of thirteen stops of the Rare Educational Trail from 28 February to 31 March 2026. Together – on the way after the examinationsThe trail symbolically accompanies patients with rare diseases through the individual steps of their diagnostic and treatment process.
The patient organization META is trying to bring the challenging life of patients with rare diseases closer in this original way - and VFN is part of it. Rare diseases affect fewer than 5 people out of 10,000 births, and are therefore still largely unknown to the majority of the population.
The aim of the trail is to show what these people have to go through and to bring to light the issues of serious diseases such as Fabry, Gaucher and Pompe diseases. Those interested can learn about the symptoms of the diseases, the options and methods of treatment, as well as what examinations are key for proper diagnosis and care.
The stops will take place, for example, at the Clinic of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology, the Clinic of Pediatrics and Inherited Metabolic Disorders, the Institute of Pathology, the Phoniatric Clinic, the Ophthalmology Clinic, the 2nd Internal Medicine Clinic, the Dermatovenerology Clinic and the Radiodiagnostic Clinic.
You can find the trail brochure, which includes all stops and detailed information, here. HERE.
