VFN has a new X-ray workplace
The central workplace of the Radiodiagnostic Clinic of the General Hospital has undergone extensive modernization. New X-ray machines with direct digitization cost over 15 million crowns.
"The Radiodiagnostic Clinic is currently one of the largest clinics of its kind in the Czech Republic, examining approximately one hundred thousand patients a year. Due to the fact that we provide patients with care at a really high level, the most modern equipment must correspond to this. With the new X-ray department, we are opening the next stage of the reconstruction and equipment of pavilion A8. It will be completed at the beginning of next year by installing state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging and a state-of-the-art CT device, "said VFN director prof. MUDr. David Feltl, Ph.D., MBA.
The clinic succeeded in creating a facility for radiological assistants, preparing rooms for magnetic resonance imaging and creating a new seminar room for clinical seminars of clinic doctors and teaching physicians. The reconstruction also included construction preparation for the installation of a new CT.
The central X-ray workplace also underwent a complete reconstruction. A new device for classical skiagraphy was added here, and a new skiascopic-skiagraphic wall was added to it, which enables ordinary images as well as dynamic examinations of mainly the digestive tract with the administration of a contrast agent. Both new devices are equipped with direct digitization. Thus, the intermediate stage of handling the cartridges is eliminated. The main advantages of modern equipment are, above all, the acceleration of examinations, greater comfort for patients and the possibility of setting lower doses of X-rays. The clinic will soon add a new high-class ultrasound.
Thanks to the construction modifications of the workplace, the doctors moved to new medical rooms in the rebuilt auditorium. The lower wing of Pavilion A8 with facilities for staff not only from the radiodiagnostic, but also from the surgical and oncological clinics also underwent reconstruction.
