Special Payments Department
|
EU patients: for acute treatment, a valid EHIC plastic card must be presented Patients from European Union countries who need acute or essential healthcare at the General Hospital during their stay in the Czech Republic must present a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) upon registration.. According to the current rules of the Health Insurance Office of the Czech Republic, for registration in the e-KZP system it is possible to accept only plastic EHIC cardIf the patient does not have the original ID card, they can submit a photocopy of the card or a photo of the actual card. If only a photo of this ID is submitted, the patient is obliged to send this photo to e-mail info@vfn.cz or to the email address of the workplace where the patient is being treated. This email with a photo of the ID card will be added to the patient's medical records. If the patient a real plastic EHIC card or the above card variants does not provide proof, it is not possible to verify his entitlement to healthcare reimbursement in this way and must pay for the healthcare provided as a self-payerWe therefore recommend that patients from EU countries have their own travel documents when traveling to the Czech Republic. valid plastic EHIC card always available. Thank you for your understanding. |
