VFN took over the Faust House
The building, which was previously owned by the City of Prague, is now owned by the Czech Republic, with the responsibility for managing it for the General Faculty Hospital in Prague. The hospital management considers the acquisition of the building to be a strategically and publicly significant step.
"With this step, after years, the Faust House symbolically and actually returns to the hospital complex, with which it has been historically and operationally connected since the 19th century," comments on the takeover of the building by Prof. David Feltl, director of the General University Hospital in Prague.
The building houses the dialysis center of the Nephrology Clinic, the hospital pharmacy including the sterile medicinal products preparation department, the diagnostics control and preparation department, and a medical supplies store. The building also houses classrooms and the Academic Club of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University.
"Our goal is to preserve the historical value of the building while creating a functional facility for the hospital's necessary operations. The premises will also continue to be used for academic and cultural purposes," adds David Feltl.
