This project is funded by the European Union under the National Recovery Plan.

Project brief:

The aim of the project is to ensure transport within the VFN campuses using modern technologies with minimal impact on the environment, while minimizing the costs of vehicle operation and repair.

Due to the necessary renewal of the vehicle fleet (with a view to reducing emissions in the center of Prague), the VFN plans to purchase 3 electric vehicles – N1 type vehicles – from the project. In this context, we expect to take 3 vehicles with combustion engines out of service.

The vehicles will ensure daily delivery of materials and medicines between the VFN clinics. This is a short-distance delivery method. They are planned only for this activity, for their entire service life (the service life of this type of vehicle is approximately 8 years).

The main advantage is zero direct harmful emissions of CO2, NOX when operating vehicles in the center of Prague. There is no need to worry about a large number of components and operating fluids that could contaminate the surroundings. There will be a reduction in noise. We will get a better environment for patients and doctors.

The advantages of an electric car are:

  • quiet vehicle operation, smooth acceleration uninterrupted by gear changes, the vehicle does not have a classic gearbox, but only a reduction gear from the electric motor to the wheels;
  • zero emissions, which is a great benefit in the center of Prague today;
  • cheaper operation, vehicles will be recharged directly on the VFN premises.

Another financial advantage is free parking in Prague's blue and purple zones for resident and mixed parking. Electric cars also do not require a highway vignette and do not pay road tax. In terms of service, they do not require oil changes and their brakes last longer because they are braked more often by recuperation, i.e. by an electric motor.

From the point of view of short-distance delivery transport, an electric vehicle is the most advantageous solution for the hospital.

Thanks to the project, VFN will be able to ensure the fulfillment of the obligation arising from Act No. 360/2022 Coll., on the support of low-emission vehicles through the award of public contracts and public services in passenger transport (hereinafter referred to as "ZPNV"). ZPNV determines the minimum shares of low-emission vehicles.
