Project brief:

In connection with the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, the General Hospital in Prague in April 2021 launched the project "General Hospital Prague - Renewal and Development of Instrumentation for Urgent and Intensive Care", registration number CZ.06.6.127 / 0.0 / 0.0 / 21_121 / 0016299. The project is co - financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and was supported by 98th calls of the Integrated Regional Operational Program, specific objective 6.1 REACT-EU, investment priorities "Supporting recovery from the crisis in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and its social impacts and preparing for a green, digital and resilient economic recovery".

The main goals of the project include the development and modernization of VFN workplaces in connection with a standardized emergency reception network. The aim of the project is to ensure and improve the availability, quality and efficiency of health care for patients in critical conditions requiring urgent and intensive care.

The renewal of instrumentation will enable the expansion of the spectrum of treated patients in higher quality and quantity, will strengthen the existing unique programs of urgent and intensive care and more efficient care without fundamental additional requirements for the inpatient and personnel fund.

The acquired equipment will meet all the requirements related to the provision of urgent and follow-up intensive care and will functionally extend to other related fields so that the General Hospital can continue to provide comprehensive medical care at the highest level.

Another goal of the project is to implement the so-called best practice into clinical practice through newly acquired equipment and to significantly improve the level of health care provided to patients.

The project includes the following departments of the General Hospital: Department of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care, Operating Rooms, Central Sterilization, ICU, ARO, Department of Radiodiagnostics, Department of Nuclear Medicine, I. and II. Department of Surgery, Department of Neurology, I., II. III. and IV. Department of Internal Medicine, Department of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and Department of Pediatrics and Inherited Metabolic Disorders. The scope of the project is to change and expand the range of instrumentation of these workplaces.

The project budget is CZK 499,725,000, this amount will be 100% financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
