Specific nursing care for wounds (except for newborns and infants)

Course Objective:
The aim of the certified course is to prepare the graduate to independently perform specific activities related to nursing care of patients with non-healing wounds of various etiologies. Graduates of the course will gain advanced knowledge in the prevention, risk assessment, treatment and care of the most commonly occurring types of wounds.
Determination of certified course
The course is intended for general nurses caring for patients with acute and non-healing wounds.
Entry requirements:
The condition for inclusion in a certified course is obtaining professional competence to practice the profession of a general nurse according to Section 5 of Act No. 96/2004 Coll. and at least 1 year of practice of the profession.
Schedule:
The educational program includes a total of at least 137 hours of education
- theoretical instruction is 65 hours (lesson 45 minutes)
- Professional practice is 72 hours (teaching hour 60 minutes).
Course dates in 2026:
I. semester
The theoretical part:
05. – 06. 05., 11. 05. – 13. 05. 2026
Practical part:
The internship will take place in groups; course participants will receive dates and instructions for registering for the internship from the administrator.
II. half year
The theoretical part:
29. 09. – 01. 10., 05. 10. – 07. 10. 2026
Practical part:
The internship will take place in groups; course participants will receive dates and instructions for registering for the internship from the administrator.
Venue:
Theoretical teaching takes place at the Education Department of the General Hospital in Prague; the practical part takes place at the clinical departments of the General Hospital in Prague:
- Surgical clinic, wound healing clinic
- Internal medicine clinic, wound healing clinic
- Department of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine
Course completion:
The condition for completing a certified course is to meet all requirements set by the educational program and the final exam.
Price:
17,000 CZK
