Capacity: 20 participants

Filling:

The DUS dialysis vascular access workshop II. is intended primarily for doctors and nurses who have completed the basic course with the theoretical part, or who are already examining dialysis shunts with ultrasound. The training will take place in small groups (max. 4 participants) at 6 stations (I.-VI). The workshop is divided into two parts.
In the morning theoretical part, we will discuss the complications of dialysis vascular accesses that you encounter most often in practice. Using case studies and imaging findings, we will show what to measure, how to describe the finding, and when to refer the patient for intervention or surgical treatment.
In the afternoon, participants will examine models with native and prosthetic dialysis vascular shunts in echocardiography laboratories 1, 2, 3 under the guidance of lecturers. In the seminar room, a clinical examination of the arteriovenous access by a nephrologist and so-called vessel mapping as part of the preoperative examination will take place. On the cannulation model, you will be able to try out the basics of cannulation under sonographic control, including cannulation of the arteriovenous shunt model.
During the workshop, each participant will be provided with a workbook for taking notes.
