Artificial intelligence in lung cancer detection
Artificial intelligence can prepare a virtual performance plan for the collection and examination of tissue from endangered lungs. When searching for a path through the bronchi to a pathological lesion, it uses data from the X-ray, which is provided by a mechanical arm right in the hall. The success rate of the pathologist assessing the sample more accurately increases to 80% thanks to the new device. This can completely change the fact that, until now, lung cancer has unfortunately often only been discovered at the moment when it is no longer possible to operate. At the same time, 60% of people survive when diagnosed in the first stage. The head of the clinic, doc. MD Jiří Votruba, Ph.D.
