The Institute is a complex department in the field of pathology, providing all autoptic, biopsy and cytological examinations using special immunohistochemistry methodologies, electron microscopy, morphometry and molecular pathology. In addition to the basic pathomorphological diagnostics, the institute is also focused on the pathology of the locomotor apparatus, digestive tract, urogenital tract, skin, hematopoiesis, nephropatology and pathology of the mamma. In addition to new methods for immunohistochemistry, molecular pathology diagnostics is systematically developed.

During the year, the staff of the Institute will carry out biopsy examinations in approximately 25,000 patients, cytological examinations in 10,000 patients. Approximately 600 autopsies of the deceased are performed at the institute.
