Together with the Minister of Health, Adam Vojtěch, we officially opened the new expert radiotherapy workplace with a new generation radiation device at a press conference at the Oncology Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General Hospital at the end of January. In this configuration, it is only available in the Czech Republic at the General Hospital in Prague.
Approximately 60,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed annually and their incidence is increasing. Therefore, patient access to the latest treatment options is crucial. The installation of the Radixact X9 system will increase the level of care provided and offer precise, gentle and safe treatment. It also expands the possibilities of effective treatment for patients with extensive and difficult-to-treat tumors.
"We see the new radiotherapy device as another important piece in the mosaic of modern oncological care, which we systematically try to provide under one roof at the VFN," said the head of the Oncology Clinic of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the VFN, doc. MUDr. Michal Vočka, Ph.D.
