New Psychosexual Assistance Center at the General Hospital
Sex as an escape from tension and stress, inability to have sex, and excessive consumption of pornography. Up to 24% of men have had difficulty controlling intense sexual desire for at least a few months at some point in their lives. This is according to data from a nationwide representative survey of sexual health and well-being (CZECHSEX), in which the National Institute of Mental Health and experts from the Institute of Sexology of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General Hospital participated.
Compulsive sexual behavior is currently understood as a disorder of sexual impulse control, not as a classic 'addiction'. People with this disorder, for example, consume pornography excessively, have an urge to masturbate frequently, use sex as an escape from stress or illness, and maintain sexual contacts with multiple partners.
The new Psychosexual Assistance Center at the Institute of Sexology of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General Hospital offers a safe, discreet and easily accessible place to solve sexual problems. To ensure first contact and easy availability of services, a specific e-mail address is available: SexHelp@vfn.czThis option serves as a first gateway for clients who are often in psychosexual crisis and need anonymity.
