New day care centers at the FP VFN

By expanding the day care centers of the Oncology Clinic at the FP VFN to 43 application couches, where 250 patients are treated weekly, we are increasing comfort for patients.

The most modern targeted treatment, unique equipment, modern oncology inpatient units, a special collection center and a patient club – all of this is now part of comprehensive oncology care at the VFN. Every year, 60 thousand patients with malignant tumors will be added to the Czech Republic. The Oncology Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the VFN will accept approximately 1,250 new patients each year, caring for up to 8 thousand patients in total. The VFN is responding to the growing number of oncology diagnoses across generations by expanding its day inpatient units. They are now offering 43 application beds, where 250 patients will undergo infusion treatment weekly.  "The Comprehensive Oncology Center (hereinafter referred to as the KOC VFN) brings together key specializations necessary for modern care of oncology patients - clinical oncology, radiotherapy, surgical specialties, radiodiagnostics, nuclear medicine and pathology, and also includes genetic and molecular diagnostics, palliative care and rehabilitation," Head of the Oncology Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and General Hospital Assoc. Prof. Michal Vočka, Ph.D.

A completely exceptional project: day outpatient clinics with digitally controlled treatment

"The new inpatient facilities offer modern spaces with unique equipment that applies digitally controlled, controllable and documented treatment with the support of special software (OncoSafety), which significantly increases the safety of cytostatic preparation and minimizes the possibility of incorrect administration of treatment," explains MUDr. Martina Zimovjanová, Ph.D., MHA, head of the Oncology Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General Hospital. Comprehensive treatment is offered in one building, there is a collection center, a cytostatic preparation room and an inpatient unit. Other support clinics are available (nutritional, rehabilitation, palliative). Patients are provided with a comfortable, discreet and convenient environment and other services that contribute to a sense of peace and security and increase the chance of successful treatment.
