Outpatient department of gynecology and gynecology provides:
- gynaecological prevention
- diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases
- detecting congenital malformations
- tracking sexual adolescence of girls
- individual consultation on contraception selection
- gynecological care for girls discharged from the Clinic of Pediatrics and Hereditary Metabolic Disorders with serious chronic diseases, etc.
Gynecology of Children and Adolescents is a relatively young independent sub-branch of gynecology and obstetrics, founded in Czechoslovakia by opening the first ambulance at the Czech Children's Hospital in Prague - Na Karlově in September 1940 prof. MUDr. Rudolf Peter, DrSc. This office has been operating continuously for more than 77 years.
Almost all gynecological diseases can occur in childhood as in an adult woman. However, access to the child is quite specific. Pediatric gynecology is not just the application of a diminished "big gynecology". She is primarily a preventive discipline, because by early treatment of gynecological diseases, by revealing congenital malformations and by observing the correct sexual adolescence, the girl contributes to the successful development of a female population that gives life to other healthy children.
Parents do not have to worry about the gynecological examination of their daughter, because it is carried out by a gynecologist trained professionally, who knows the peculiarities of childhood. The accompanying parent is present in the examination and, if properly informed, helps to better and faster contact the doctor with the girl.
Even so, gynecological examination is not one of the most pleasant. A girl, unlike an adult woman, is not motivated towards him, and therefore it is sometimes more difficult to get her cooperation. It is also very important to cooperate with a pediatrician and other experts from specialized pediatric fields who take care of the child - most often they are a nephrologist, urologist, surgeon, etc. Almost all specialist pediatricians are on the grounds of the Na Karlov children's clinic, where our outpatient clinic is located available. Ultrasound examination is performed at the specialized workplace of the Clinic of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology by trained doctors. In this way, really high-quality and comprehensive ambulatory care for girls is ensured.
In the outpatient department, undergraduate and postgraduate education, doctors, medics and midwives, as well as other clinical workplaces.
The clinic for pediatric patients is somewhat different from the adult clinic. With the presence of toys, colors and pictures we try to create a pleasant backdrop for unpopular examinations. Gynecological examination is the first time we start a general examination of the body, so the girl is undressed. Followed by the examination of external genitals and the vagina, while tools for its examination and collection are adapted to childhood (the so-called vaginoscope). After gynecological examination, the viral membrane remains completely intact. Palpation examinations are performed in the same way as pediatric surgery through the rectum. Therefore, before gynecological examination the girl should be properly urinated and emptied. For menstrual cycle irregularities, a carefully completed menstrual calendar (available on the Internet) is required.
In case of acute complaints it is possible to arrive in office hours, but always after previous telephone agreement.

The Endocrinological Outpatient Clinic deals with the whole spectrum of endocrine disorders from adolescence to postmenopause. The issue of gynecological endocrinology includes disorders of the menstrual cycle, conditions associated with overproduction or decreased production of some hormones (hyperandrogenic conditions, hyperprolactinaemia, premature ovarian failure, etc.), skin androgen disorders, climacteric disorders. The Endocrinological Outpatient Clinic is one of the few centers dealing with the whole issue of hormonal ovarian disorders.
In the Center for Comprehensive Treatment of Endometriosis we provide complete care for patients with this diagnosis. The center is a super-conscious workplace and centralizes patients from all over the Czech Republic. Outpatient monitoring and care is connected with the Endoscopic Department providing advanced laparoscopic surgery - thus the surgeon provides long-term follow-up, hormonal treatment, etc. We use our expert oncological sonographers rather than NMR to confirm pre-operative diagnosis, confirming the high sensitivity and specificity in this problematic location. The number of patients operated for the most extensive findings and deep infiltrating endometriosis is among the highest in the country. In cases where an interdisciplinary approach is needed - for example, if urethral or urethral affected endometriosis resection is needed, a co-operating laparoscopically urologist or surgeon is available.
Patients who are dominated by the problem of sterility, are subsequently referred to the Center for Assisted Reproduction of our clinic after therapeutic interventions. In case of recurrent symptoms of pain and after exhausted treatment modalities, cooperation with the ambulance department of the Clinic of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation VFN is ensured. This provides comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with endometriosis.
