The laboratory focuses on industrial toxicology, providing specialized toxicological examinations of biological material (blood and urine) with a focus on heavy metals and other chemicals.
The laboratory performs biological exposure tests, including selected industrial nox in biological material (Decree No. 107/2013 Coll.). It also performs laboratory analyses in cases of suspected poisoning.
Arsenic, cadmium, thallium, lead, copper and mercury are examined in urine, lead and mercury in blood, as well as delta-aminolevulinic, hippuric, trichloroacetic and phenylglyoxylic acid in urine, porphyrins and other metabolites for monitoring the pharmacological and toxicological conditions of patients (methemoglobin and sulfhemoglobin in the blood).
