Workplace characteristics

The institute is a comprehensive and consular workplace in the field of forensic medicine, providing autopsy examinations using special immunohistochemistry methodologies. The Department of Forensic Medicine covers assessment activities for law enforcement authorities on the territory of the City of Prague. of the City of Prague and in the Central Bohemian Region. In addition to the basic pathomorphological diagnostics, the institute is researching the evidence of a vital injury response, forensic neuropathology, cardiovascular disease and the diagnosis of pathomorphological changes in persons dependent on narcotic and psychotropic substances. New methods for immunohistochemistry are used continuously. The Institute's staff annually performs 1200 dissections of deceased persons by sudden and violent death.
