Project brief:

The aim of the submitted project is to ensure the complexity of resocialization in accordance with the priorities of the CZ11 program, making it easier for patients to return both to the family and to society. Above all, it is about expanding the spectrum of activities of the patients and creating space for these activities, a permanent offer of open educational programs, creation of new places for meeting people with similar problems, serving for integration in a protected environment, which are also a suitable terrain for educational programs in an informal way , and the necessary increase in the competence of mentally ill staff.

These goals will be achieved through:

  • adjusting and equipping existing rehabilitation areas;
  • building a therapeutic garden;
  • establishing a safe barrier-free access;
  • adjusting the access path to the therapeutic garden;
  • adapting and equipping outdoor areas for psychoeducation and integration of the mentally ill;
  • training of professional staff;
  • integration activities (integration center and sheltered workshop).

The main focus of the project is to improve the current state of psychiatric care. The project will implement a new system of comprehensive rehabilitation of mentally ill patients.

Up-to-date information on project implementation status:

Project outputs as of June 30, 2016:

  1. Reconstruction of the Rehabilitation Department of the Psychiatric Clinic, including the acquisition of new equipment for the workplace;
  2. Building a Therapeutic Garden for Clients of the VFN Psychiatric Clinic;
  3. Establishment of safe barrier-free access for pedestrians;
  4. Modification of the Access Path to the Therapeutic Garden;
  5. Creating and equipping new outdoor spaces for psychoeducation and integration of the mentally ill;
  6. Vocational training for employees: 117 people supported;
  7. Supported employment of mentally ill: employed a total of 10 people;
  8. Integration Center and Work Rehabilitation (Outside Supported Employment): 254 clients supported;
  9. Patient support within the newly created comprehensive rehabilitation system: 787 persons;

A brief synopsis of the project:

In compliance with the CZ 11 Program priorities, the main task of this project is to ensure the complexity of the social rehabilitation of the patients, to help them reintegrate back to the society and their families. Primarily, the project is designed to extend the range of activities for patients, to create space for these and to contribute to the range of open learning programs.

Furthermore, the project helps to create new integration meeting places for similarly challenged people in a protected environment. Also, it provides convenient grounds for implementation of casual educational programs.

Last but not least, the project leads to the essential increase in the competencies of staff working with mental disorders.

We will achieve these objectives through:

  • utilization of equipment and modifications of existing rehabilitation facilities;
  • building and garden;
  • safe wheelchair access;
  • the construction of the access path to the therapeutic garden;
  • adaptation of outdoor space for psychoeducation and integration for patients with mental illnesses;
  • training and education of the professional staff;
  • integration activities (clients working in the Integration Center and private workshop).

The main objective of the project is to improve the current state of the psychiatric facility. As a result of its realization, a new system of comprehensive rehabilitation of patients with mental disorders will be implemented.
